ThermiTight® was just introduced to our patients at Peña Plastic Surgery. This technology allows tightening of skin anywhere in the Body without "surgery". The 'injectable radiofrequency' probe is inserted just under the skin after a local anesthetic has been administered. The skin and the underlying attachments to deeper tissues are tightened and stimulated to produce collagen and elastin to smooth the area. Final results may take as long as 6-9 months to see.* Areas where this has been used effectively with amazing results include: the lower face and neck, the arms, the knees, and pretty much anywhere where there is loose skin. The post procedure discomfort is MINIMAL and downtime is also.* It is not a substitute for surgery for those individuals where only surgery is indicated, but it does allow those who may not need surgery or are not ready for surgery, to have a great option.
The same device can be used in a similar fashion to take care of excessive underarm sweating by "stunning" the sweat glands. This procedure is Called ThermiDry for the hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating). This procedure may require a touch up. An alternative is BOTOX® injections to the underarms which is effective for 6 months to a year in preventing sweating there.*
The nonsurgical treatment of the under eye bags is also very exciting and is totally Non-Invasive and takes about 4 sessions each 2 weeks apart. No anesthesia is required and the small pad/probe heats and stimulates the collagen in the treated tissues.* This is called ThermiSmooth™.
