What is a Classic Neck Lift?

A neck lift is designed to address unwanted signs of aging from the jawline to the collar bone. With this procedure, Dr. Peña can:

• Reduce jowls
• Remove loose skin underneath the chin (turkey waddle)
• Reduce excess fat underneath the chin (double chin)
• Correct muscle banding to restore optimal contours

What is a ‘Suture Neck Lift’?

A suture neck lift addresses the neck bands and the fat and recreates the jaw line but does not remove excess skin nor does it affect JOWLS! It is designed for younger patients with poorly defined necks not necessarily caused by aging. Often the Suture Neck Lift is combined with a chin implant or fat grafting along the chin or jaw line to maximize the visual result.

What is an ‘Instant Neck Lift’?

To try to achieve “surgical results” with minimally invasive surgery, many different modalities or technologies must be used for the “Instant” Neck Lift. A combination of Micro-liposuction, Injectable Radio Frequency (THERMItight® or FaceTite) and absorbable barbed sutures are used to get a “near surgical result” that lasts years and improves over the first 6-12 months. Local anesthesia and usually 24-hour downtime is all you need for this procedure. Careful selection of the right candidates including expectations is critical for the success of this and any procedure.

What is a ‘Thread Lift’?

Unlike a traditional surgical facelift or a neck lift, a thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that doesn’t involve incisions or deep-tissue manipulation. A thread lift is a facial rejuvenation procedure where precisely placed sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible “lift” in the skin. This procedure differs from a facelift as there is no removal of the patient’s loose facial skin surgically; Dr. Peña will instead suspend the skin by stitching up portions of it.

A thread lift recovery is faster than a facelift recovery (often 24-36 hours) and patients see results directly following the procedure. There are minimally side effects, including slight swelling, bruising, and redness that typically resolves in a few days.*

While it is a good procedure for some patients, it won’t achieve the same results as a facelift. Results from a thread lift are not long term like a facelift. Patients can expect the results to last 12-18 months.*A neck lift can be combined with facelift or a thread lift in instances where both areas require correction.
