Volumizing with Hyaluronic Acid
As with the other dermal fillers in the Juvéderm® collection, Voluma™ XC also uses modified hyaluronic acid (HA) to produce a fuller and more youthful appearance while still looking natural. However, unlike other Juvéderm® treatments, Voluma™ XC is injected deep into the subcutaneous or supraperiosteal tissue to restore volume to the mid-section of the face. Along with HA, Juvéderm® Voluma™ XC contains lidocaine which helps improve the comfort of the injection.
Juvéderm® Voluma™ XC is clinically proven to produce results for up to two years when optimally treated by an expert injector. Side effects with Juvéderm® Voluma™ XC are rare, but may include tenderness, swelling, redness, or hardness around the injection site. These side effects are usually temporary, lasting no more than two weeks, but should be brought to Dr. Peña’s attention if they persist.
