Sutureless upper eyelid surgery

We havebeen using surgical glue in plastic surgery for over 20 years. It's a form of the classic 'crazy glue' cyanoacrylic that has been purified to minimize skin irritation. A recent report I read uses only the glue to close the upper blepharoplasty incision. They used a few temporarily sutures to bring the edges together and allow the glue to make a seal and dry. They are removed at the end of the surgery. One might use this to minimize discomfort of suture removal in a sensitive area. The results were comparable to those using sutures. I can imagine the area feeling a bit stiff but might be worth the tradeoff especially if someone needs to travel before the fifth day or simply cannot keep the scheduled appointments for suture removal.
