What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
Board-certified Naples plastic surgeon Dr. Manuel Peña is committed to providing those techniques and technology he knows to be of the greatest benefit to his patients. He performs both a traditional brow lift technique as well as an endoscopic technique.
The only way to know if one of these procedures is right for you is to visit Dr. Peña to discuss your goals and expectations of surgery.
Using an Endoscope for Brow Lift Surgery
In an endoscopic brow lift, a few tiny incisions are made along the hairline. These incisions are often as small as a quarter inch. In a traditional brow lift, the incisions are longer.
The endoscope is inserted through one of the tiny incisions. The end of an endoscope is a little camera, and the video it captures is displayed on a monitor viewed by Dr. Peña. In this way, he can look at the treatment area without moving aside your forehead skin to look at it directly. The endoscope allows for a less invasive procedure.
Through the other incisions, narrow surgical instruments are inserted. Dr. Peña uses these instruments to reposition the muscle and tissue of your brow, creating a refreshed brow and forehead appearance.
Advantages of Endoscopic Brow Lifts
The main benefits of using an endoscope to perform a brow lift are:
- Less invasive facial plastic surgery
- More conservative incisions
- Less extensive scarring
Of course, an endoscopic brow lift is still a surgical procedure. Just like the traditional technique, it involves anesthetization and certain risks of complications. But it is a less invasive surgical procedure.
You'll have scars after an endoscopic brow lift, but the scars are hidden within your hairline and are smaller than the scars left by a traditional brow lift.
Dr. Peña has achieved beautiful results for numerous patients using either brow lift technique. He can explain the benefits of each technique, and help you make an informed decision about which procedure is right for you.
