Robotic Surgery may not offer significant Benefit over laparoscopic surgery

Recent study confirmed the suspicion that Robotic surgery (Using the Da Vinci system) increased the cost of intra abdominal (gynecological and urologic) surgery without showing an improvement in outcomes. These findings may impact how the insurance companies treat the added expenses for these procedures, now covered under many plans.
