Finally Mentor, the third and final company with a "cohesive gel" silicon breast implant, has these available for use in the United States. The Memory Gel like its counterpart Shaped Gel from Allergan has been used in all other countries for up to 10 years. There is limited enthusiasm by US plastic surgeons for using these for most cosmetic breast augmentations but indications for sing these in certain difficult cases and most reconstructions abound. It will be interesting to see if the price of these implants start getting a bit more competitive as more options become available!
