6 weeks after injecting Hydrelle into my cheeks i developed swelling, redness, and firm bumps. I treated it with local antibiotics, oral and injectable steroids and dissolving enzymes called hyaluronidase. I had to drain the areas several times. I received a memo from Coapt ( the company that markets Hydrelle) about 2 weeks ago and after it started recommending it only be used in the nasolabial folds and the marionette lines. Whoops, too late for me.
I am so glad this happened to me and not to one of my patients. I am having troubles uploading photos to this Blog but they will be here soon.
