When the use of Platelet Rich Plasma is added to the PRP (microneedling treatment), the results are "supercharged" with the growth factors that are carried and released by your own platelets. Approximately 2 ounces of your blood is drawn and then our nurse places in a centrifuge where the platelets are separated from the rest of the blood. These platelets are then treated to release the contents which included many stimulators and growth factors that promote collagen and elastin in the skin. These two factors are responsible for the improvement in the elasticity and overall improvement of the appearance of the skin after these treatments. The same PRP can be injected underneath the wrinkles and scars to further improve the texture and quality.
If one chooses, instead of PRP we will use growth factors and stimulators that are already in a medical preparation does removing the need for the blood.
